There is rich history in our area, which also means we have an unmatched selection of historic Virginia homes. Culpeper plans to showcase them in a new calendar.
The Culpeper Star-Exponent reports:
As the first month of the New Year slips into February, the Society for Preservation of Culpeper History is already planning notable local sites to be featured in its 2018 Historic Houses Calendar.
The 2017 Historic House calendar featured photographs of a dozen homes, and accompanying text, highlighting the richness of architecture in Culpeper County. The local history group has already distributed all 300 free copies from its inaugural calendar run, but a copy is available for viewing in the reference room of the Culpeper County Library.
“The Historic Homes Calendar is intended to ‘put a face’ on history in Culpeper,” said Mary Jo Browning, president of the Society for the Preservation of Culpeper History. “Without clear visuals, people tend to forget what came before them; indeed, to forget the basis of their lives today.”
